So....when I told the Mysterious Maija that I was quite anxious to see Iron Man, she sneered, "Well I'm not. I can't believe the cast Gwyneth Paltrow as the girlfriend. Why would they do that? She looks snotty and women simply do not like her! I think it will hurt the film at the box-office."
5 days and a $100 million dollars later, we see that prediction was a bust. Still, I must ask, do women not like Gwyneth Paltrow on a mass-scale? I wasn't aware of this. Does M.M. know something I don't? Has the tide turned against Gwyneth? I'm not sure, but I suspect that what we actually have here is another case of irrational celebrity loathing. Just like my disdain for stupid Justin Timberlake and his irksome peanut head, something about Gwyneth irritates M.M. to the point where she becomes irrational and thinks all women must hate on her. I'll ask around....
